Bright, colorful, timely and high-quality. All are words I would use to describe the vast catalog of diverse kidlit offerings from MVP Kids.
“Our mission is to inspire an honorable character in young men and women through healthy mentoring relationships, preparing Real MVP Kids® to live responsible and meaningful lives.”

I came across MVP Kids®   several years ago when they became a Medallion Level Sponsor for the wildly popular online literacy event, Multicultural Children’s Book Day (MCBD).

MVP Kids®   represents a wide range of ethnic and cultural diversity and are the stars of our products. All told, there are 16 MVP Kids®, along with their parents, siblings and other family members that make up a total of twelve families.  I’ve always admired how this quality line of kids’ books are not afraid to tackle the tough (and timely) topics like fear, bullying, anxiety, anger, and friendship.

Help Me Understand™ Series

Their Help Me Understand™  hardcover series tackles the relevant issues that kids ages 6-12 face in everyday life like lying, worry, disobedience, standing up to bullies, bad sportsmanship and more.

Titles in the Help Me Understand™ series include

  • Lucas Tames the Anger Dragon
  • Miriam Lassoes the Worry Whirlwind
  • Blakes Rewires the Failure Circuit
  • Sarah Sizes Up the Insecure Ant
  • Yong Breaks Out of the Boredom Box
  • Olivia Uproots the Arrogant Weed
  • Ezekiel Builds on his Mistakes

“The important goal of establishing our MVP Kids® throughout the product lines is to create familiarity and friendship for readers, a basis of trust to address serious life issues and challenges in products for maturing children. As we develop our products, they will follow the MVP Kids® as they grow from toddlers to adolescents. All MVP Kids™ products are designed to teach young readers how to gain honorable character through healthy mentoring relationships while preparing them to live responsible and meaningful lives through books.”

About Multicultural Children’s Book Day

Multicultural Children’s Book Day 2019 (1/25/19) is in its 6th year and was founded by Valarie Budayr from Jump Into A Book and Mia Wenjen from PragmaticMom. Our mission is to raise awareness of the ongoing need to include kids’ books that celebrate diversity in homes and on school bookshelves while also working diligently to get more of these types of books into the hands of young readers, parents, and educators.
